About Us

First New England Federal Credit Union is a member owned and operated, full-service financial institution committed to meeting the diverse needs of our membership. We specialize in real estate lending and providing unmatched surcharge free checking / debit cards access to members.  These accounts are the building blocks of our “relationship accounts” which allow us to routinely better competitor rate and product offerings.  First New England Federal Credit Union has recently won statewide award recognition for putting our member focused philosophy into action and for our commitment to serving members in our charter community.  With our credit union …relationships matter!

Our History

First New England Federal Credit Union began as East Hartford Teachers' Federal Credit Union in 1938 with 10 members. Dairy Food and Services Federal Credit Union merged with us in 1988 and Rockville Federal Credit Union merged with us in 1989. Our name became "First New England Federal Credit Union" that same year.

Today we serve approximately 9,500 members (as of 09/06).  With assets of over 55 Million, we operate three full-service locations in the East Hartford, Vernon and Newington communities.
